DISA CIO John Garing will present “DISA 101,” a broad overview of DISA’s missions, organization structure, and strategies. This will be a “primer” for companies new to DISA, as well as an excellent “refresher” for companies with prior DISA experience. Stay on top of your DISA pursuits by attending this terrific precursor to the AFCEA NOVA DISA IT Day on September 19, 2007.

Garing will brief on DISA's broad mission in supporting the Department of Defense, including DISA's special missions, such as support of the President. He will cover the DoD journey toward net-centric operations/warfare, DISA's role within the DoD strategy, and how DISA's programs relate to ongoing net-centric evolution. DISA's Strategy, which holds the guiding principles of DISA's future, will also be explored, as well as the DISA ABCs philosopy -- "Adopt Before Buy" and "Buy before Create" -- used when acquiring capabilities and services to support net-centric operations and warfare.

Although this event is being targeted to Small Businesses, representatives from large and medium-sized primes are also welcome to attend. If you want to be fully prepared for the AFCEA NOVA DISA IT Day conference on Sept. 19th, don't miss the DISA 101 Breakfast on Sept. 7th.
