Wounded Warriors Effort
This year AFCEA NOVA will be teaming with the Wounded Warriors Project to collect individual donations to the program at Walter Reed Hospital. This collection will take place at the Army IT Day held on July 23rd at the Sheraton Premiere. The Wounded Warrior Project reports our best donation would be gift cards that they could give to the veterans, to assist them or their family who are visiting while in recovery at Walter Reed. Or, of course, cash donations will be accepted as well and Wounded Warrior will purchase the gift cards on your behalf.
Please find below a list of suggested cards/items. It was suggested that each card have a max value of $25, so please bring gift cards for any amount up to $25.00. You are welcome to bring more than one card as a gift. Please join us in honoring our soldiers, and giving back to the warriors who have given so much to us.
The donations will be collected at the door at Army IT Day by the Young AFCEAN committee that put this program together. A member from Wounded Warriors will be coming to Army IT Day to pick up the donations for delivery to the hospital.
Receipts will be available onsite for tax write-off purposes.
