2012-2013 Scholarship Award Reception

AFCEA NOVA takes special pride in honoring the winners of our 2012-2013 scholarship awards. All winners are invited to attend a complimentary reception in their honor. The reception will be held on Sunday June 3rd, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Who May Attended

All winners of the 2012-2013 scholarship awards and their family are encouraged to attend the reception. We also welcome participation from mentors and those who wrote recommendation letters for the winners during the application process.

Please RSVP by no later than Thursday, May 24.

Lt. Gen. Larry D. James is the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible to the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force for policy formulation, planning, evaluation, oversight, and leadership of Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities. As the Air Force's Senior Intelligence Officer he is directly responsible to the Director of National Intelligence and the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. He leads more than 20,000 ISR officers, enlisted and civilians across the Air Force ISR Enterprise. This includes the Air Force Intelligence Analysis Agency as well as the Air Force ISR Agency which includes the 480th ISRW, 70th ISRW, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and the Air Force Technical Applications Center.

2012 Annual Golf Tournament

AFCEA NOVA, the largest AFCEA Chapter, is in the process of planning the Washington DC area premiere golf tournament for 2012.

AFCEA NOVA offers a wide variety of exclusive and joint sponsorships, to match any budget. The net proceeds from our tournament will be added to the AFCEA Scholarship Fund. We thank you in advance for your continuing support.

In order to comply with AFCEA NOVA’s ethical regulations, all military and government personnel will be randomly paired for this golf tournament.

Spring 2012 Mentor Protégé Night

Mentor Protégé Night is focused on helping to develop the future leaders of both industry and government. The event brings together emerging leaders and seasoned professionals to connect, share ideas, and generate the next level of leaders in the federal IT industry.

The Mentor Protégé Night will be held at Maggiano’s restaurant in Tyson’s Corner, VA. Registration will start at 5:30, followed by Networking from 6:00 to 7:00 and dinner from 7:00 to 9:00.

This event will be structured differently than in the past. Instead of a series of formal presentations, we will provide table topics that we hope will encourage productive and helpful dialogue between mentors and mentees.
