Oct 19, 2007 -- FINAL UPDATE -- Due to scheduling and coordination challenges associated with the January timeframe and after discussion among key DISA staff, AFCEA International Staff and the AFCEA NOVA DISA IT Day committee, we have regretfully decided to cancel DISA IT Day. While we were very excited at the chance to bring this opportunity to the Northern Virginia region, we wanted to ensure we are meeting both DISA's needs as well as those of our loyal members.

We encourage those of you who did not have the opportunity to attend the Sept 25 DISA Forecast to Industry to attend one of the many other programs AFCEA will be providing in the months ahead - both in the National Capital Region and at the DISA Customer Conference in Orlando - to showcase DISA's vision and opportunities.

On behalf of the AFCEA NOVA Board, I would like to thank Chuck Corjay and the members of the DISA IT Day committee as well as the staff at DISA for their hard work in planning this event. We appreciate their commitment and dedication in supporting our ability to bring the DISA leadership's vision to our AFCEA community.

For those of you who registered and paid to attend, and those of you who signed-up and paid to be sponsors, we ask that you complete this quick form on the web and tell us what you would like to have done with your registration/sponsorship fee.

There are three choices.  You can ask that we:
1) Transfer the registration/sponsorship to Air Force IT Day on December 5
2) Process a full refund, via the method that you originally paid
3) Donate the money to the AFCEA Scholarship Fund in your name

Finally, I want to personally thank all of our supporters for their patience as we worked through these DISA IT Day issues.  Your commitment to AFCEA NOVA, to a strong and vibrant Defense IT sector, and to our collective National Security, is the reason we work hard to serve you as volunteer leaders of this organization.   We look forward to continuing to do that through other upcoming events.

Sep 24, 2007 -- UPDATE -- The Date for the Rescheduled AFCEA NOVA DISA IT Day Conference has now been set for January 15, 2008. If you previously registered to sponsor or attend the event, and the January 15 date is a problem for you, please contact the AFCEA NOVA office at events@afceanova.org and we will work to resolve the issue.

Aug 30, 2007 -- Within the last week DISA announced a "Forecast to Industry" Day on September 24, 2007. This Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) required event must take place within this fiscal year. Since this is just a few days after the date for our planned DISA IT Day, the AFCEA NOVA Planning Committee came to the conclusion that it would be inopportune to try and accomplish both events in such a short time period. Therefore, we committed to help DISA achieve a strong, successful Forecast to Industry event by postponing the AFCEA NOVA DISA IT Day.

The committee also decided that because of the overwhelming response for this inaugural DISA IT Day - from our members, as well as the broader government and contractor communities - we would work to reschedule the event for some time in the November to January time-frame. We felt it was imperative to serve our members needs by continuing with the planning to bring the highly successful "AFCEA NOVA IT Day" format to such an important Defense Agency.

The Board would like to thank the Sponsors for your tremendous response since the announcement of AFCEA NOVA's DISA IT Day. We had record numbers of sponsors sign-up. We will be in touch with you shortly to determine how you would like to proceed.

The Board would also like to thank the IT Day Committee for their incredible effort to plan all aspects of the DISA IT Day program. All of their resources and energy will be rolled right into the rescheduled IT Day.

Finally, we want to thank the DISA leadership and staff for being so cooperative and supportive throughout the planning process, including the advice and assistance provided in making this decision to reschedule the event. We wish them the very best of success for their Forecast to Industry Day and look forward to continuing to work with them on DISA IT Day.
