About Naval IT Day

by Martin Haley last modified 01-14-2008 02:24 PM

AFCEA NOVAs annual Naval IT Day is the premier opportunity for industry IT professionals who desire to engage in a full day of focused dialogue with senior leaders of the Department of the Navy.  Civilian and military leaders from Navy and Marine Corps will share their vision and plans for exploiting technology to provide Naval forces with information superiority in Expeditionary Warfare.  Department leaders will explore the operational trends, warfighter experiences and maritime strategies that underpin needed capabilities, such as maritime domain awareness, effective expeditionary coalitions, improved network capacities, enhanced multi-level security, and information interoperability across government and non-government agencies.

Of particular interest to industry ... senior leaders will discuss the translation of requirements into investment strategies; how emerging IT technologies can help to meet requirements; and, what government and industry can do to more rapidly address the complex challenges inherent in creating global maritime partnerships in the information domain.  Sessions will also include discussions about how industry can help DON move forward with important enabling initiatives like IPv6 and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Add to that a very special small business program, booth displays from the Major Commands, and great networking and you won't find a better opportunity to come together with Navy & Marine Corps leaders in a forum that reaffirms our mutual commitment to America's future & freedom.
