Committees & Volunteering

AFCEA NOVA is overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of eight current officers and five past presidents. Each Officer/VP oversees a number of Committees where the real work of the Chapter is done.

To Volunteer and serve on an AFCEA NOVA committee, read the Committee Descriptions below, then register as a volunteer to begin participating.

VP for Programs

Manages AFCEA-NOVA's popular luncheon events

Responsible for coordinating, rolling out, and monitoring the Annual Chapter Corporate Table Holder program.

Responsible for encouraging the education, growth, and development of small businesses within Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington region that

VP for Special Activities

Responsible for the planning and execution of the Service IT Day Conferences

Responsible for the planning and execution of the Annual Golf Tournament

Responsible for the planning and execution of the Sweetheart Ball

VP for Chapter Affairs

Responsible for reviewing those persons who deserve special recognition for contributing to the goals, objectives, and general welfare of the Chapter.

Responsible for the annual review of Chapter fiscal policy & controls, as well as advising the Board of Directors on all strategic financial matters.

Responsible for oversite of the daily operations of the organization

Responsible for maximizing and assuring the participation and attendance of Government members and guests at all levels within AFCEA NOVA

VP for Membership

Responsible for securing new members and retaining current members, both individual and corporate.

Responsible for the planning and execution of programs which will increase the numbers and participation members under 40

VP for Government Affairs

Responsible for planning and implementing strategies to increase the participation of Government employees in AFCEA NOVA

VP for Information

Responsible for providing an infrastructure for achieving the paper and electronic records and communication of AFCEA NOVA,

Responsible for publicizing all chapter activities through all electronic and traditional means

VP for Education

Responsible for the administration and award of AFCEA NOVA annual scholarships to qualified students pursuing higher education

Responsible for promoting and fostering education in disciplines supporting AFCEA
