Brigadier General Bob Ranck, Director of Warfighter Systems Integration, Speaks at AFCEA NOVA's October Luncheon
On October 21st the AFCEA NOVA chapter had Brigadier General Bob Ranck, Director of Warfighter Systems Integration, Office of SAF/CIO A6 as the luncheon speaker. The luncheon was very well attended with 450 people. Brig Gen Ranck shared his vision on Warfighter Systems Integration that starts in a collaborative environment where information is available on demand.
It is a paradigm shift from "Marconi" to a "Google" mentality where today's agile technology is not limited by yesterday's monolithic approach. Also, integration starts from the beginning as a "built-in" requirement and not a "bolt-in" solution.

We were honored to have Major General Steven Smith introduce the night's theme "Learning Through Experience: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" by sharing some of his personal experiences and the knowledge he gained from them. Dinner conversation and discussion began with the help of table topics led by the mentors and young, new participants were encouraged to ask questions. The goal of this and every Mentor Protégé Night is for young professionals to interact with seasoned professionals in a comfortable, engaging environment.
BG Price details network enhancements, strategy at AFCEA NOVA event
From the company commander to the dismounted squad, small units will soon reap the benefits of the Army’s strategic shift in how it buys, tests and delivers the tactical network.
That was the message from Brig. Gen. N. Lee S. Price, Program Executive Officer for Command, Control and Communications – Tactical (PEO C3T), during a recent appearance at the Northern Virginia chapter of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association, or AFCEA NOVA.
“The Army has recognized that communications on-the-move at the company level will be a necessity to bring critical and timely information to our Soldiers,” Price said on Sept. 23 in Vienna, Va. “Satellite communications will continue to increase the speed at which we fight, and connect company commanders to the mission command solutions that will empower them to execute timely and decisive actions.”
