Volunteer Registration Policy
Volunteer registration for events is a privilege granted only to AFCEA NOVA Volunteers who are assigned tasks for that specific event by the event’s committee chair. In other words, volunteering with AFCEA NOVA in general does not automatically grant the privilege of volunteer registration at events; the volunteer must be actively supporting that specific event and be known to the committee chair.
The volunteer does not always need to be a member of that event committee however they do need to pre-coordinate with the event committee chair. An example is an Education and Grants Committee member providing volunteer support for an education program held during a luncheon, this is legitimate situation for volunteer registration for that particular luncheon as long as the event committee chair is informed and concurs.
We ask our valued volunteers to be respectful of this privilege. The Chapter is communicating this policy to ensure we are providing an equitable means of event access for those volunteers who are running the event.
