The AFCEA NOVA Educational Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the critical role science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education plays in shaping America’s future. We are the STEM education support element of the AFCEA NOVA Chapter.
Each year the Educational Foundation awards educational scholarships, grants and assistance for teachers and students engaged in STEM studies, ranging from elementary school through post-graduate education levels. The Foundation has provided more than $1,000,000 in scholarship and grant funding since its inception.
The AFCEA NOVA Educational Foundation’s initiatives include:
- Educational Grants – Fosters excellence in education through educational incentives, opportunities, grants, and assistance for students engaged in STEM-related course work and extra-curricular activities.
- STEM Scholarships – Awards annual merit-based scholarships to qualified students pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a STEM Discipline at an accredited College or University.
- Adopt-a-School Program – Provides designated local schools with funding, resources and personnel to improve hands-on science and technology education.
- Fairfax County Regional Science & Engineering Fair – Annual competition with judges awarding numerous prizes to area STEM students.
