Women In NOVA Cyber Health and Wellness Expo

WIN's volunteer Board, Sub-Committees and WIN membership work to increase awareness and diversity, and influence positive change through thoughtful outreach, event sponsorship, networking, and mentoring.

This event will consist of two sessions. First, industry experts will be present for attendees to learn about physical, emotional, and nutritional health. Concurrently, healthy snacks and networking will be available. Next, a panel of industry experts in the areas of cyber and personal health will share their experiences as led by questions from a knowledgeable moderator. After the moderator completes their targeted questions, attendees will be offered the opportunity to ask their own questions.

Panelist Mr.Greg Garcia

Gregory L. Garcia was selected for the Senior Executive Service in 2005. He assumed the position of the Chief Information Officer/G-6 (CIO/G-6) at the US Army Corps of Engineers on21 February 2016. In this role, he serves as the principal advisor to the Corps Commanding General on information technology issues. He is responsible for all aspects of information resource management and information technology for the Corps. Mr. Garcia previously served as the Executive Director for US AIT, the Special Advisor, Cyber Operations, SAF/A6 Chief Information Office, and the deputy Director, Strategic Communications(J9), U.S. Forces- Iraq, U.S. Central Command Baghdad, Iraq.

Colonel Darby McNulty has served as the Project Manager for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A),under the Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), since May 2014. He is responsible for the Army’s integration and deployment of the largest implementation of PeopleSoft ever, which will join together Human Resources and Military Pay into an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with a workforce of 90military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Colonel McNulty is a 1990 graduate of the United States Military Academy – West Point, where he majored in Operations Research/Systems Engineering. He was commissioned in the Army’s Field Artillery Branch. He spent over 10 years in the Field Artillery in numerous Artillery, Armor, Infantry and Cavalry units at Fort Bliss, Fort Sill, Fort Knox, Korea, Saudi Arabia/Iraq and Fort Lewis.

Moderator

Nirali is a director in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice with more than 16 years of experience providing a wide range of services to private and public sector clients including financial and information technology audit services, information assurance and security services, and establishing entity-wide internal audit and security programs. Ms. Chawla’s experiences have entailed improvement in business processes and internal controls, with a focus on assisting clients in complying with laws, standards, and guidelines such as DoDAF, FEA, ITIL, COBIT, FISCAM, FISMA, FFMIA, CFO Act, NIST, and OMB.

Nirali has substantial experience in security control/risk assessments, security policy assessments/development, threat and vulnerability assessment efforts, insider threat/social engineering assessments, and implementation of role-based access control across enterprise and cloud environments. Additionally, she has experience reviewing and evaluating complex financial reporting, management information systems and process controls for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.

TransAmerica Cycle for STEM

AFCEA NOVA's TransAmerica Cycle for STEM is a journey across the United States in support of STEM education. Three military veterans will spend three months traversing over four thousand miles of our nation's mountains, plains and cities to build awareness of and support for STEM education for America's youth.

Your contribution to TransAmerica Cycle for STEM will directly support the education and outreach programs of the Children’s Science Center. Each dollar raised will spark the confidence and curiosity of over 10,000 at-risk children in Northern Virginia with unique opportunities to explore, create and be inspired by hands-on STEM learning.
