About NOVA Young AFCEANs
Who We Are
The Young (40 and under) AFCEAN group consists of both government and industry AFCEA members. Our purpose is to:
- Support the Northern Virginia (NOVA) AFCEA Chapter
- Promote synergy among the younger Chapter members
- Foster networking and alliances
- Offer opportunities for mentorship and professional growth
What We Do
The Young AFCEANs host networking events, community activities, socials, and mentorship-themed programs throughout the year. In addition, the Young AFCEANS support the AFCEA NOVA Chapter by serving on planning committees, escorting VIPs at Chapter conferences, and “stuffing bags” for the Air Force, Army, Naval, and Warfighter IT Days. The Young AFCEANs also offer opportunities to meet new people in the industry by hosting networking and social events in conjunction with other local AFCEA Chapters.
One of the highlights of the Young AFCEAN program is the Mentor Protégé Night, an evening of networking with government and industry senior leadership. In the past, distinguished speakers at this sell-out event have included the Army’s Vice Chief Information Officer, a U.S. Navy Rear Admiral, several retired SES-level individuals, and industry executives. This unique event provides Young AFCEANs with the opportunity to both network and sit side-by-side with these accomplished leaders.
